getting started
3 articlesonce you're approved into the my megu affiliate program and sign your agreement, head to af.uppromote.com/mymegu/register and register using the same email you applied with. this step doesn't happen automatically — you have to complete it yourself before your account and discount code can go live.
while you're there, go ahead and:
- set your preferred payout method (paypal or store credit)
- submit your w-9
once your agreement is signed and you've registered on uppromote, we'll activate your account and discount code on our end. this isn't instant — please allow a little time after both steps are done. if it's been several business days and you still don't have access, reach out to us at contact@mymegu.co so we can look into it.
a couple of common snags if you're not seeing your account:
- make sure you're searching for it under the name/email you originally applied with. if you've changed your name (like a married name) since applying, that mismatch is the most common cause of a "missing" account.
- double-check you actually completed uppromote registration — signing the agreement and registering on uppromote are two separate steps, and it's easy to miss the second one.
if your application is still pending review, email us at contact@mymegu.co and we'll get you an update.
contract terms
6 articlesyou earn 10% commission on referral sales, and your followers get 10% off with your code.
the restriction is specifically about lash lift — not the broader lash or beauty space. here's what that means in practice:
- ✅ totally fine: tagging or using brow-only products, lash extension supplies/tools, lash aftercare or wash from other companies, or any other adjacent service (waxing, tinting, makeup, etc.)
- ✅ also fine: casually using or posting about another brand's lash lift product on your own — as long as it's unpaid, not a collab, and doesn't have a promo code or affiliate link attached
- ❌ not allowed: paid partnerships, sponsorships, gifted-product collabs, sponsored posts, or affiliate links for a competing lash lift brand's products, on the account(s) listed in your agreement
- ❌ also not allowed: being formally affiliated or partnered with another lash lift brand while active in the my megu program
in short — you can genuinely try and casually mention other lash lift products without it costing you anything, but the moment it becomes promotional (paid, collab, code, or link), that's a conflict with your agreement. not sure if something counts? reach out to us at contact@mymegu.co before accepting any partnership or campaign — we're happy to make the call together.
violating this is grounds for immediate termination and forfeits any pending commission and store credit.
you keep ownership of everything you create. by joining the program, you give us permission to repost or repurpose content you tag us in for our own marketing, with credit to you.
you're responsible for making sure your posts about my megu are honest and accurate. we're not liable for outcomes tied to claims that misrepresent our products.
we may update program terms from time to time. if that happens, you'll get 14 days to sign the updated agreement — your affiliate status pauses (no new commission earned) if it's not signed within that window, and you'll be removed from the program entirely if it's still unsigned after 30 days. any commission you already earned up to the pause stays yours.
this agreement is governed by the laws of the state of nevada.
w-9 & taxes
4 articlesif you're a u.s.-based affiliate, the irs requires us to report affiliate earnings once they approach the 1099-nec threshold ($600/year). we ask for your w-9 early so there's no last-minute scramble — or delay to your payout — once you're close to that number.
we're required by the irs to collect a completed w-9 from all u.s.-based affiliates before issuing any commission payments. it's a one-time submission — here's how:
- download the form — get the current version directly from irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-w-9. make sure it's from the official irs site so you have the right version
- fill it out — your full legal name (line 1); business name or dba if applicable, otherwise leave blank (line 2); entity type — most affiliates check individual/sole proprietor (line 3); mailing address (lines 5 & 6); your tin, which is your ssn for most individuals or an ein if you have one for your business (part i); then sign and date (part ii)
- upload it — submit the completed, signed form directly through your uppromote dashboard under account settings. don't send it by email, dm, or comment — this keeps your personal info protected, and we'll never ask for it that way
w-9s are only required for u.s.-based affiliates — if you're outside the u.s., reach out to us at contact@mymegu.co and we'll send the appropriate form instead. your info is kept confidential and used only for tax reporting. if you earn $600 or more in commissions in a calendar year, this is what makes it possible for us to issue your 1099-nec.
this is usually just a preventive reminder, not a new request. we send a heads-up as affiliates approach the reporting threshold (starting around $400 in earnings) regardless of whether a w-9 is already on file. if you've already submitted yours, you're all set — no need to resubmit. if something still looks off on your end, reach out and we'll check your record directly.
that's your call. you can keep earning commission without one up to $400 in lifetime earnings. once you cross $400 we'll give you a heads-up that it's coming due, and at $599 we have to pause your commission payouts until it's on file — this is a legal requirement on our end, not something we're able to waive. submitting it at any point lifts the pause right away.
getting paid
6 articlescommissions are paid out monthly, by the 7th, and cover approved sales from two months prior. that gap exists because of our 30-day return policy — we wait until a sale is past its return window before it counts as a finalized referral. so if you referred a sale in june, you'd see it paid out by the 7th of august, not july.
before we can process your first commission payout, you'll need to set this up in your uppromote account. only takes a few minutes:
- log in — head to af.uppromote.com/mymegu/register and click "log in," using the email you applied with
- find the payment tab — this is where you'll enter your payout details
- choose your method — paypal (a personal account works fine, no business account needed — just make sure the email is correct, that's where your commission gets sent) or store credit (redeemable as a coupon toward my megu products)
- hit save — you should see a confirmation once it's updated
only one method can be active at a time, and you can update it any time before your next payout is processed. if you don't have a payment method on file, we can't mark your commission as paid or send you a payout notification — so it's worth knocking out early. don't see the payment tab, or running into an issue? reach out to us at contact@mymegu.co and we'll sort it out.
same place — the payment tab in your uppromote portal. you can switch between paypal and store credit any time, just make sure the change is saved before your next payout is processed; it won't apply retroactively to a payout that's already gone out.
a referral can go negative if the original sale is later reversed. this includes:
- chargebacks — the customer disputed the charge with their bank
- refunds — the order was refunded, in full or in part
- returns — the item was sent back
when that happens, the commission tied to that sale is reversed too, since the sale was never actually kept revenue.
this happens when a referral looks like a self-purchase — meaning your own code was used on what looks like your own order. we're so glad you use and love your own products, and your code still gets you the discount when you shop for yourself. it just doesn't earn commission, since commission is for sales you bring in from others, not savings on your own cart.
this one's intentional. we don't offer affiliates a bigger personal discount, because we want people joining the program to grow with us — not just to get a deal for themselves. your 10% code works the same way whether you're using it yourself or sharing it with a follower.
that's exactly why we built in the store credit bonus instead: for every $500 in approved sales, you earn $50 in store credit, up to $150/month. it's our way of rewarding affiliates who are consistently putting in the work — the more you grow with us, the more that adds up, versus a flat personal discount that doesn't reflect your effort at all.
store credit
2 articlesif you chose store credit as your payout method, your commissions build up in a store credit wallet inside your uppromote account. here's how to access and use it:
- make sure store credit is set as your payment method — your wallet won't accumulate until this is configured (see the payment method setup article above)
- wait for your commission to process — once a qualifying sale is approved, it's added to your balance and you'll get a notification. processing times can vary
- generate your code — log into your affiliate portal → payment tab → you'll see your available balance → click "generate coupon" for the amount you'd like to redeem (you don't have to use the whole balance at once)
- use it at checkout — copy the code and enter it at checkout on mymegu.co
store credit can only be used on mymegu.co — it can't be transferred or redeemed for cash, and it doesn't expire, so there's no rush. if a code isn't working at checkout, double-check it was copied correctly and hasn't already been used; if it's still not cooperating, reach out to us at contact@mymegu.co and we'll look into it.
bonus credit — like your $50 first-5-referrals bonus or your $500-sales-milestone credit — is a separate system from your uppromote payout credit. it's added directly to your my megu customer account (not uppromote). just log into your account on mymegu.co using the email tied to the bonus, and it'll show up automatically as usable credit at checkout — no coupon code needed.
quick way to tell them apart: if it came from a monthly payout, it's in uppromote and needs a generated coupon. if it's a one-time bonus (first 5 referrals or a sales milestone), it's sitting in your mymegu.co account already.
store credit terms:
- must be used in a single purchase — it can't be split across multiple orders
- shipping costs aren't covered by store credit
- bonus credit is capped at $150/month, even if you cross more than one milestone at once
- bonus credit is awarded at the end of the month, after that month's referrals are reviewed

staying active
3 articlesyes — accounts with no referral activity for 3 consecutive months may be deactivated per your agreement.
absolutely. whether you were declined, your contract expired unsigned, you opted out, or your account went inactive, reapplications are processed the same as any new application. just head to the affiliate application page and submit a new form.
of course — just let us know at contact@mymegu.co. we'll deactivate your link and code and thank you for your time with us. any outstanding store credit is available for 30 days after you leave; after that it expires, so use it before you go if you can.
